Who's a Fat Bastard - Heckle the Lawn Bowlers

August 16, 2014

I think that today I covered the entire spectrum of emotions. I was up and down like a new brides pyjamas! I woke with the alarm at 8 am feeling great. My mind was clear, my spirit was soaring and my body was relatively pain free . Even my arthritic hands were working pretty good. If I had known my hands were going to hurt this bad, I would have kicked more guys! We're going to a Jam/ CD release party tonight at our friends Mark and Leah's place. I want to be able to play without pain and it's looking good. The day started with an up. But first.
Lisa Andretti school of safe driving.
I made coffee for Lisa and I. Lisa was up shortly after I was and informed me that we were helping Michele get the last of her Ex`s stuff to him. That was bound to be stressful. I went to the Green Room to start my workout. Strangely, I feel energised and invigorated just thinking about working out. Till I start that is. With the recent increases in reps and sets, I find myself looking for excuses to stop early. "Is that a twinge in my knee?" I ask myself, looking for a way out. "No ya Fat Bastard, Keep your arse moving" my inner Scotsman replies.
600 Four Stair Stretches, 200 One Stair Steps and 144 Belly Crunches and it took me only thirty minutes to do them.

?????????? Crunch????
A quick shower, a coffee in a go cup and we were out the door, dogs in tow. They love going for rides and especially like going to Michele's.She has a good yard.
I called Shotgun!
Michele is hurting worse than a foreskin caught in a zipper. She's one of my oldest friends and it hurts to see her so sad. Just to pile it on, it looks like the home she has lived in for fourteen years is being sold out from under her.

We collected the boxes and headed to Prospect Point to meet up with her ex. I wasn't crazy about the errand I was on, but I love Stanley Park. Let's call it a wash.

North Van from Prospect Point
We paid for an hours parking, so we were going to get an hours parking. Not! We drove slowly through the park enjoying the scenery. We parked only once more for a minute or two, so I could heckle the Lawn Bowlers..
Nice shirt pal, your whites in the wash!
Neither of us had eaten so we swung through Chinatown for some BBQ pork. It was delicious.

When we got home, I ate a bowl of Squatch Salad that was intended for the party.
Pre BBQ snack
I just put what was left in a smaller bowl. I made up a bowl of Guacamole using my son in law Christians recipe, packed up my guitar and amp and we were back out the door.
Smokey Wine. That`s what they call themselves. They just finished a cd of their original tunes and it`s pretty good. I`d describe their stuff as Hippy Blues. Easy to listen to, and hard not to tap your feet. That`s a good combo.
Mark and Leah have a great place in PoCo. They have a huge garden and eat what they grow, including this delicious Korabi that our hostess slaughtered for our dining enjoyment.

Leah and the silence of the Korabi!
There were also Blueberries.
Who ate the Blueberries

The Mexican food was great too. I ate all the taco filling without the taco and a lot of salad. No sooner had people finished eating they started making music.
Several guitars, a bass, a keyboard, a couple of congas, mandolins and harmonicas up the Kazoo, of which there were two.

Sadly we had to leave just after 11:00 pm. Happily we had to leave to pick up Marina, my son in laws Mom, at the airport arriving from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Ironic isn't it? We left a Mexican themed party to pick up a real Mexican person! We got her back to our place in one piece and in no time at all she was in bed. With the two hour time difference it was after 4 am for her. It's now after 4 am for me.

That's all I got.
Till next time.
Peace Out Y'all
