Who's a Fat Bastard - Some kind of mental block

December 15, 2014

This writing my blog in the morning thing is getting to be a habit. I had Papa Squatch Dayscare today so when my bladder woke me up at 6:45 I just stayed up. I made myself a cup of joe and I was still writing yesterday's blog when Jen showed up with the grandkids at 8:20. Bella and Christopher have gotten into a routine when they get dropped off here in the morning. Bella plays with Nutmeg and Christo sits with me watching the local news.
At 8:45 we all walk over to Bella's school. There are a couple of ledges along the way to school just perfect for a four year old to show off.
"Papa, look at me Papa" he calls out a dozen times or so. I find myself hoping he falls off the wall just to shut him up. See how it went from a ledge to a wall? By the time I finish the story I will have thrown him off a building! At its highest point it's maybe ten inches above the sidewalk.
When Christopher and I got home we had about 20 minutes
before he had to go to preschool. Just enough time for a music session. I played guitar and Christopher played the bongos. He's starting to really get the hang of keeping time.
After I drop Christopher off at school I took the Rat dogs to Blue Mountain Park.

I was only there about five minutes when I saw the animal control Van  pull up. I started moving in the exact opposite direction of the animal control officer. Elvis on the other hand was not that interested in leaving. Since I hadn't bothered to put him on the leash he felt he was more or less in charge of the situation. Its a $165 fine for having your dog off leash in the park so I did the only thing I could. I pretended Elvis wasn't with me. The doggie cop was still a couple of hundred meters away when I got back to the truck. When Elvis heard the truck door open he had a change of heart. He hopped up into the truck and took his usual position shotgun. The good thing about seeing the animal control officer was it reminded me that the Rat dogs licenses were due. The Coquitlam animal shelter is right near our house at the Public Works yard on Mariner. I went into the office and there was a guy having a mental breakdown. He was freaking out over a $500 fine that he had received for multiple complaints about a barking dog. Of course I don't know the whole story but this guy was losing it. The Animal Control office is really small and it is license time.
Within a matter of minutes there were five or six of us waiting in line. There is only one window and one cash register. There were several people on the other side of the counter so I suggested someone take grumpy pants off to the side and let the rest of us take care of our business. I paid the $54 to keep the two little Rat dogs legal.
When I got home I made myself ham and cheese lettuce wraps for lunch. Christo gets picked up at noon. He goes to pre school for two and a half hours a day, three days a week. After I picked Christo up I took him to McDonalds for lunch.

After Christo had his lunch we got a Rolo McFlurry for Mama Lee.
We spent about twenty minutes talking with Mama Lee. I'm always amazed at how good Christo is with Mama Lee and all the residents. A lot of kids his age are weirded out by some of the old people. Some of them weird me out!

When we left Mama Lee's we came home and had another music session. This one in the office where my keyboard is. I was calling out the chord changes. He was a little slow on the changes but he was able to do them. There are a lot of different beats on this keyboard. It has a twelve bar blues beat that we managed to get through in twenty three bars. It's amazing how fast time goes by when you're enjoying yourself. We turned around and realized that Bella gets out of school in three minutes.
We were waiting for the light to change across from the school when the bell rang. The kids all lined up behind the teacher and she lets them go out one at a time after she makes eye contact with the parent/Papa. It seems a lot different than when I was a kid. When the bell rang we grabbed our gear and ran screaming down the hallways and out into the playground! Oh well, modern life.
Christian showed up just after 3:00 and grabbed the kids. I got a text from Chef Boy R Lisa telling me that lunch had been pushed until the end of the shooting day. That would make it an nineteen hour day. It was almost 8:00 by the time she got home. She had a quick bite, showered and went to bed. She had a 2:30 am wake up call.
I have some kind of mental block about Weigh Day going on . I completely missed a week ago and I weighed myself on Sunday and forgot to post it. I'm having a blond moment. At any rate I'm hanging in.

I watch the Monday Night Football game another disappointment. With nothing on TV, I turned on the radio
and read my new book. I went to bed just after midnight.

That's all I've got
Till next time
Peace out y'all
