Who's a Fat Bastard - Be as nice to everyone you meet as you expect them to be to you

Waiting for Santa

Christmas Eve day. A time for last minute preparations and visiting with family and friends. Not around here. This is one of the occasions when Chef Boy R Lisa shows up in our kitchen. I am demoted to scullery Squatch. My job is to prep the Brussel sprouts, empty the dishwasher, keep the never ending stream of compost going out to the compost and most importantly, don't let the dishes buildup in the dish rack.

Chef Boy R Lisa  had some emergency shopping to do. I used the opportunity to do all of the things that she asked me to do. I prepped the brussel sprouts, I dumped the compost, I emptied the dishwasher and the dish rack and I even made  apple sauce  as a bonus. And, I did it all after getting yesterday's blog written and posted. Well, it was written last night so all I had to do this morning was picture, punctuate, and post.
With Chef Boy R Lisa still out shopping, I slipped into a pair of sweatpants and my runners and went down to the green room with the vacuum to do my workout. I still hadn't vacuumed down there from the giant mess I made when putting in the new light fixture. But first my workout. I had done nine out of the ten sets of floor exercises when Chef Boy R Lisa  got home. I did my last set of side lifts, belly crunches, front lifts and no stair steps.

Then I went upstairs to see if Chef Boy R Lisa  needed a hand with the groceries. She told me she had it covered and that I should finish my workout. I did 200 One Stair Steps and rode the Iron Maiden through another episode of Lilyhammer.
Post workout selfie.
Chef boy R Lisa was on a roll cranberry sauce, pickled beets, a picnic ham, sauteed onions, mushrooms and sausage for her unbelievably good sausage stuffing, sat ready to be mixed with herbs from the garden and stuffed inside the thirty pound mutant turkey Chef Boy R Lisa came up with.
Half the gang at Jen and Christians
Every Christmas Eve we go to Jen and Christians for Mexican Christmas. I dropped the lovely Lisa, the two Rat dogs and five folding chairs off at Jen and Christians, then went to pick up Mama Lee. Christian outdid himself this year. He would make a great caterer.
The grandkids were joined by Matty and Ronin and the place was pandemonium. The gingerbread house was finished and waiting to be smashed on Christmas Day as is our family tradition.
What's with the Baby?
Gingerbread breakfast mmmmmmm.
He started with tortilla chips and salsa Mexicana, guacamole and cerveche los Camarones. People were absolutely gorging themselves on this incredible food. He hadn't even gotten to the main courses yet and was in the kitchen cooking like a maniac!
The appetizers were followed by machaca, tostados, pollo con mole,  and tacos carne and pollo.

It is the best Mexican food I have had outside of Mexico, ever. When Christian's mom comes up to visit, she brings him the spices that you can't get here. I ate way too much!
I weighed myself after my workout today.
Starting point
I want to see what happens between now and Boxing Day.
With all the ginger / shortbread cookies I've been eating I thought I'd be bigger! At 9:30 with a belly full of Mexican food and the grandkids still bouncing off the walls, the lovely Lisa and I said our Merry Christmas /goodbyes.
We then went home to finish preparing for the twenty plus people we are expecting tomorrow for Christmas dinner. Chef Boy R Lisa whipped up fifty pumpkin/ mincemeat tarts.

I couldn't stay awake as the lovely Lisa was wrapping gifts in the wee hours of the morning.
Do Wrap a Do
I went to bed.

Be as  nice to everyone you meet as you expect them to be to you!

That's all I've got
Till next time
Peace out y'all
