Who's a Fat Bastard - My sleep sodden brain

September 5, 2014
The Squatch Ness Monster
What a wonderful day. I turned off the alarm when it rang at 8 and slept for another hour. At which point my old man bladder took control, overriding my sleep sodden brain and putting my feet in motion. After the completion of my morning rituals, I made a pot of Joe and let Lisa sleep. I settled in with a hot cup and checked the news channels. Same crap, different day. I watched an episode of
All in the Family on Deja Vu and the highlights of yesterdays games. By this time the phone had rang half a dozen times. Three times from Momma Lee. Lisa was up at 10:30 and next thing you know, Lisa was on the phone and we're going to Buntzen Lake.
Before we could go I had some paper work to do for Momma Lee. Insurance claims and dental authorisation. I was headed for the green room when Lisa intercepted me and put me to work. Pack the cooler, get the chairs, put the dogs halters on...blah blah blah.
It was obvious that I wasn't going to get in my workout. I changed into my swim suit and did as Princess Lisa commanded. I couldn't find our folding chairs so I had to use two old ones. One of which doesn't have a bag.
I needed to eat before we left. I have been bad lately about skipping breakfast. Partly because I have been keeping strange hours and partly because I don't like to eat before I do my workout. Not an issue today I whipped up an omelet with garlic sausage, onion and cheese.
Lisa was ready to go, with a giant pile of things piled by the door, that was my signal to start loading the car.
We left the house and headed over to see Momma Lee. Lisa had a bag of baked goods that she uses to butter up the staff. We have been very happy with the level of care Momma Lee is receiving. Definitely making the best of the situation.
We headed over to pick up Lea who was waiting with enough luggage to move to another city. She had a backpack, two beach bags and a guitar. It was after 1 pm when we finally made it to the lake. We got a spot right at the waters edge in full sunlight.
We swam
We snorkled
And we took turns playing Lea's guitar. The best part was the Dog Races.

Lisa called the race a little too early. As you can see Elvis stopped to wave to the crowd and Nutmeg blew past him at the line!
Lea's brother Craig joined us about 4 pm. Back in the lake for another swim.
We started for home about 5:30. Dropped Lea off at home and tried to figure out what we were going to do tonight. I knew the Lions where playing and put the TV on the game just before half time.
The score was 6 - 5  at halftime! I thought it was a baseball score! It may have been the most boring game in the history of boring. We win the game and we lose our quarterback for the season.
I don`t know where the time went. All of a sudden it was 9 pm and I`m standing at the stove cooking burgers. With a Squatch Salad it was a nice light late night dinner.
I really have to remember to take the picture before I eat the food. We watched a little tube and got a call from brother Steve who has been in San Fransisco for ten days or so. He drove down the coast with Lyndsey in her Motorhome, and yes, I`m jealous!
Lisa went to bed and I started to write this. I woke up at 3 am asleep in my chair with two paragraphs written. I got up with my alarm and wrote this blog. I didn't do my workout yesterday. Wracked with guilt I'm on my way to do it right now.

That`s all I got.
Till next time.
Peace Out Y'all
