Who's a Fat Bastard - He can't see me.

September 23, 2014

If I had known that a week of stress would take  seven pounds off of me. I would've made more of an effort to worry about things.
Down from 291 last week.
I felt such a surge of relief when the weekend was done. I know everyone at the lake felt closure. I'm so glad we did it. It took us eight months to the day after his passing to do it, but it truly was a celebration of Stu's life.
I was up with the alarm at 8 a.m. I don't know how the place gets so messy when we're not even here. I'm starting to suspect it may not have been clean when we left. That's why it's always a good idea to leave at night, and don't turn the lights on.
My day started by dancing around the place with the dust mop. Instant coffee in hand, I one handed that dust mop around the room like Miley on a wrecking ball. Until I hit the puddle of dog pee left by Mac, the leaky puppy! The mop stuck, I stumbled, and half my coffee ended up on the floor. Mac was nowhere to be found.
When I found him in my office, curled up under the desk,
I have never seen a dog look more guilty.

If I close my eyes he can't see me!
I carried him out to the scene of the crime. His little legs started back peddling as soon as he saw the puddle. Unfortunately, for him, his legs were nowhere near the floor. I showed him the pee told him he was bad and put him outside. Hey, that's how Lisa trained me!
After I did the floors and started the laundry I did some stuff in the office I have been putting off. Some insurance stuff and moving things around to make a little more room.  We were gone so much this summer, and I have two young Grandchildren who live here while we are away. Three this year with Clarissa here all summer. But only one of them is nicknamed "Destructo." They're kids being kids and guitars and other instruments are not toys. So into the attic they go. Soon they'll be old enough to learn how to play. They both have good rhythm and like to sing. Bella is not shy about singing at all.
Of course once I got the keyboard set up I had to make sure everything was working all right.

I just got it a few months ago and have been learning how to play it. It's a casio and has a casio chord program that plays the bass line and the drum beat. I have only been using my left hand until today. It has 100 beats, 100 tones, and the tempo is adjustable. I was able to kind of, sort of, play the melody with my right hand and still make the chord changes with my left. It's a challenge, but I like a challenge these days. My next song will have drums and bass and maybe Piano. That's freakin scary!
I totally wasted the morning playing Liberace. I look up from the keyboard and it's 12:15. I throw together a quick lunch and head over to see Momma Lee.

I haven't seen her since last Wednesday so I wanted to see how she was doing. We had a nice visit and I left just before a concert was going to start at 1:30. I did some shopping and some banking then went down to best buy for some extortion at the hands of the Geek Squad. $200 dollars and seven or eight weeks to replace a fan. I found it here at Amazon.ca for $17.33. $10.95 if I send it to my mail box in Washington. Not only that I sat there for twenty minutes before he acknowledged my existence! I'm sure whatever he was doing was very important. I was honoured that he took the time to try to bone me. Then I pick out an external hard drive for Mac so I can save my pictures. 1 Terra byte, $89.95. You have to take the box to the counter and they fill it. Instead he told me they had no 1T left, even though there were four or five boxes on the shelf, then tried to sell me a 2t model for $159.95. I'm way too cheap and I don't need that much space. When I went to leave without it he miraculously found four of the 1T in the back room. I left without buying anything. I hate being played.
I got home at about 4:30 and Lisa called shortly thereafter with my Ho warning. Which was good because the kitchen was a mess. I was watching the Blue Jays beat up on the Mariners again (where was that in August?) When I got the call I sprang into action. Dishwasher loaded, counters wiped down and no crap piled on the kitchen table. Only she is allowed to pile crap on the kitchen table. Because she's a chef! Lisa was home about 5:15. Exhausted by another 15 hour day.
Squatch Salad
I steamed some asparagus and made a Squatch Salad to go with the Fried Chicken Lisa brought home while she was in the shower. I had dinner ready by the time she was done in the shower. It took her fourteen years and numerous beatings but I think I got the job for good now.
She was in bed by 6:30. Which coincidentally is when the Canuck game started. Preseason or not, I enjoyed the game. Our young guys played really well and it was fun to watch. Oh yeah, and we won.
It's now 9 pm and I head down stairs to the green Room to do my workout. Pretty late but I was overcome with guilt or fear of lethargy! Like they say a body in motion.....
1000 Four Stair Stretches

200 One Stair Steps. Done without the top of my head too!
180 Belly Crunches and I was done.

I had a nice long hot shower and sat down to write today's blog. Lisa will be getting up in half an hour so I will just stay up till she goes to work. Tomorrow I have Papa Squatch Day Scare. Christo is a half day at preschool and Bella is in grade one now. I only have them for a couple of hours. First world problems.

That' all I got.
Till next time.
Peace Out Y'all
