Plum tuckered out |
Looking out the window it's easy to believe summer is over. It would be easy to drain the pool, put the lid on the sandbox and the trampoline in the shed. It just poured here today. All day. I'm watching the news and they're still telling me it's going to clear up. Idiots! Look outside. What's wrong with you people. Evidently they get all their weather information from the airport. I know it's been said before but, who lives at the airport? I always get nervous when it rains hard. We have had three floods since we bought the place. I have put in, with Barry the Mole Boy, all new drain tile and built a brick wall across the drive. I was running in slow motion. I kept looking out at the grey and the rain and the teachers huddled under their pop up. I live across the street from the school my grandkids go to. The strike pisses me off because I don't get to see the kids as much. I may be seeing a lot of their teachers though.
I took my time getting to my workout this morning. I had four cups of coffee before I even put on my sneakers. Lisa's call time was noon so I was waiting for her to, A; get out of bed and 2; leave for work. With a peck on the cheek and her rain gear in hand, she went off to the salt mines of film land. And I went down to the green room.

Another episode of Suits ala Iron Maiden
Diggin the head phones |
In all it took me close to one hour and forty minutes to do my work out, fifty minutes of it on the Maiden. I think I'm getting more fit. I certainly feel better.
Workin it! |
I made a few phone calls, had a shower and made myself a nice Squatch salad for lunch. I also had some Buffalo Salami I got from Daryl Devlin.
It was excellent, very lean and it has a really nice texture. I sat and played my guitar for a couple of hours, watched two more episodes of Suits and generally did squat!
Doing squat |
Next thing you know, it's 7 pm and I haven't even seen Momma Lee yet. I packed up the dogs, the shopping list that Lisa had texted me and off we go! First stop, the park. It was still light enough to see so I let them run around by the parking lot at Como Lake. Rat dogs don't like rain! They were back at the door to the truck in two minutes.
At 7:30 at the home, most of the residents are already in bed. Momma Lee is more of a 10:00 bedtime gal. I showed her how to use her DVD player for the hundredth time. She shakes quite badly and it's difficult for her to work the buttons. She was a little more distracted than usual. After forty minutes of stilted conversation I headed to the store with my shopping list.
I started at No Frills. They had nothing on my list. I bought lettuce and tomato's even though they weren't on the list. I then went to Thrifty's for Bragg Soy product, in two sizes! Then off to Stupor Store for the rest of the list. And my dinner.
Moooo Baby! |
After dinner I wrote this blog while watching the world go to Hell in a hand basket. I gotta' stop watching the news!
That's all I got.
Till next time.
Peace Out Y'all
