Who's a Fat Bastard - Paella Bound

     "Dad....Dad......open the door Dad" I heard in my dream. " I'm coming Raquel" I replied dreamily. "DAAAAAADDDD!!!!" shattering my dream into a million tiny Raquel boobs. "Alright , alright I'm up" I yelled back, still in bed. I had totally forgotten that today was Pappa Squatch Daycare. By the time I got to the door, Christo was tap dancing and pinching off the hose. " I gotta Pee Pappa" he squealed. 

Gotta Go

" You don't have to tell me , you just have to go!" was my advice. " And don't forget to sit down!

      " I have been trying to train him to sit down and pee. As my three wives, daughter and numerous female roommates over the years have pointed out, That thing ain't no laser printer! Lisa actually whipped out a black light to show me the overspray. I pee sitting down all the time now.

     "Where are the girls?" I wanted to know. "Having a sleep over with Grammy" Jen said.  "she`s dropping them off at 10:00. See ya Dad." and she was gone. 
     Christo went into the living room and was patiently waiting for the TV to come on. " No TV, go outside and play." I said " Do you want to turn into a vidiot?" Rhetorical questions are wasted on a four year old. He went out and sat on the back deck staring into space. I did my four stair stretches. It was hard today and my shoulder is killing me.

I only managed five sets of crunches. Until you have this kind of injury, you don't realise how often you use your shoulder.The Maiden on the other hand doesn't bother my shoulder,  just my butt! 

Pedalling fool

I forgot my tablet so I just pedalled for thirty minutes. Christo has been on his own the whole time I'm working out. I go upstairs, he hasn't moved! Grammy shows up with the girls, and they immediately got changed and headed for the pool. The water is too cold for Christo. He won't even put on his bathing suit. The girls had a great time. They never got out of the water until lunch. Christo sits in a chair by the pool and watches the girls having fun. It must be his Dads Mexican blood...or he's a Lizard! 
     Lunch today was going to be a challenge. Because I was sleeping in and not shopping I had to pull something out of the freezer. I didn't make a very good choice. In my defence, I should have read the package. It turns out four year olds, don't like Jalapeno, cheddar smokies! While they weren't eating their lunch I sent a text to Christian. "Come get the kids right after work, I have some running around to do." He phoned Grammy in a panic and told her to go pick up the kids right away! Oh well, English is his second language. Grammy (Sharon), Jennifer`s mom hung out here for about an hour before taking the kids home about 2:00. Bad things happen when you miss garbage day. After they left I loaded up the truck, returned the empties to the bottle depot $19.45, and they do all the work!

     I went to the bank to pay the shortfall on the property tax $115.54.

     Then I took the recycling to the recycling station. It so sucks when you miss Garbage day! I had planned to load the garbage into the truck but, by the time I got home my shoulder was throbbing. I have had bursitis for years and when it`s acting up, it really slows you down. So instead of doing the garbage, I had a nap. I seldom have naps.I think it`s the not wanting to miss anything thing. I slept till after 6:00 when Dr Dan returned from his walk. He was gone for close to six hours. He walked down the mountain to Coquitlam Centre then over to Port Moody then back up to the house. What a nut job!

Dr Dan and Momma Lee

     After he got cleaned up we stopped by Lakeshore to see Momma Lee. Dr Dan lives in Prince George and Momma Lee doesn`t get to see him that often. We had a quick visit then headed down to Commercial drive for dinner. We parked the car across from Joe`s and walked the length length of the drive. Way too many choices! Up one side of the street to Broadway then back down the other side. It was now 7:30 and we were starving. Lisa dumped the choice on me. That`s okay I have big shoulders.
     Havana it is! I haven`t eaten there in several years but the food was always good and we could sit on the patio. We waited only five minutes for a table on the street side. ( The place is always busy).

     We were joined by Steve who had been at an art opening on Main Street. He had already eaten, so he just picked at everyone else's food.  Cerviche and Guacamole for an appy started our meal. Lisa had Paella,

Pulled pork avec bun

Dr Dan had fish tacos and I had pulled pork sans bun with a salad. The food was very good and the people watching even better. I just love the energy on the Drive.

We hung out till after dark then said our goodbyes to Steve and headed for home. Pappa Squatch Daycare tomorrow.
