Who's a Fat Bastard Oh, Canada!

May 20, 2014

Talk about bucking the trend! I am way ahead of the curve. The results came out today. A world wide report card on youth fitness. New Zealand and Mozambique got a B. Pretty good. Canada got a D-. Behind Mexico Kenya and Nigeria who all earned Cs. We did  however, kick the snot out of my homeland Scotland who came in with an F and responded " Gae Tae Fuck, ya pommy Bastards".
What does this report tell us?
1. You will score well, if half the creatures in your country can kill you.
2.  You will score well if, you are constantly running away from Rebels or Drug Lords.
3. You will not score well if you live on Lager and deep fried anything!
I, on the other hand, with my new found will to live. I boldly go where no Squatch has gone today. The Green Room. Home to the Iron Maiden.
Not this Iron Maiden

This one
I call it the Iron Maiden because it sends stabbing pains through my buttocks after about 45 minutes.
I`ll come back to that. First, my sit up record of 0 is still intact. I touched my toes this morning, 10 times. And as I said the other day, I changed my crunch program. Reps of 15 crunches with 30 seconds in between reps. At 15, I was feeling it. After my 30 seconds of rest, I felt pretty good. I seemed to recover nicely. On the second set, I was hurting by 12. I put on my big boy pants and sucked it up. 30 seconds doesn`t seem that long, except when your entrails are trying to escape through your eye sockets! My pathetic excuse for stomach muscles had just stopped twitching when I started rep 3. By the time I did my 15 I was in super slow mo!
I was like the Six Million Dollar Man! I mean the actor who Played him. He`s like 90 or something.
30 seconds later, still in pain. I pushed myself to do as many crunches as I could. That would be 11! I`m pretty sure it was 11.
I lost the feeling in my legs somewhere around 9. I`m not sure the last 2 where good, but Dammit, I`m counting them for a total of 56, a personal best.
I`m going to go out on a limb and say I may have taken more than 30 seconds to get moving again. She was an imposing sight, seen from my Princess Barbie Workout Mat.
Set up to ride!
I don`t want to say I look forward to riding the Maiden, I do however always walk away rubbery legged and satisfied that she didn't beat me. Now that I have discovered a web site with thousands of games, that you can play for an hour for free! An hour. That`s how long I ride the Maiden for. Gotta be fate! Kharma! And free, a Scotsmans favorite price! I don`t even have to set the timer today.
Mind numbing repetition
Mind Numbed!
Time just flies, 60 minutes and a 3 minute warm down. My legs feel better if I slow pedal for a bit. I can actually walk up the stairs on two legs.
Breakfast this morning, steak and onion fritata.

Saute Onions in a little olive oil
Add cubed beef( leftover strip loin)
3 eggs, salt, pepper and Hot sauce whisked
I flipped that baby like Circ De Soliel
TaDa
I think it`s important to take the time to make a nice meal. I always found that I felt deprived because of what I couldn`t eat. Now I focus on the foods I can eat, and there are a lot of them. It helps me leave the table satisfied mentally and physically.
Not that long ago, I would have been on the couch watching TV after any exercise. This afternoon I mowed the lawns. All of them! I can`t wait till we get a heat wave. Grass won`t grow if it doesn`t rain. I never cut the grass once after mid June last year. Global warming, where do I sign up?
Lawn Boy Rides again

Careful not to mow dogs or Grandkids
As I was finishing up the lawn Jen showed up with the Grand Kids. Always a happy event. Like I said, I got a lot of Grandkid Bait.

By the time they left it was dinner time. We still had steak we didn't cook last night. So, back to back Scooby snacks. That means I like steak! Zuccini on the grill, asparagus, cucumber with salt, pepper and Vinegar and of course a Squatch Salad.
Not steak again!

Lisa also had this wonderful Chick pea curry on rice. Not on my diet.
Chick Pea Curry
And Chick Peas Blow holes in my shorts!

After dinner we went down to see brother Dan and Shaun. She is recovering from surgery and just starting to feel better. They are staying at a friends place down by the float plane terminal.
What the hell is this?
I haven't been down here before. It's pretty nice, lots of green and lots of dogs. We all went for a walk along the foreshore with Stanley Park Right across the water.
Dan, Shaun and I, No Lisa, someone has to take the picture.
We walked around the "Loop" before Shaun started tiring. We walked her back to the apartment then continued our walk.
Dan is a doctor so of course, I was running some of my diet concerns past him. Mostly to do with my diabetes. Everything is good.
The whole family
He closes his eyes every time...sheesh
We left Dan about 9:30 and headed for home. I'll leave you with a sunset over Stanley Park.
Oh wait, I almost forgot. When the 9 o'clock cannon went off. The Poop Fairy paid Lisa a call, at least it looked like it. Hehehe.
Sunset from whatever they call this place.

That's all I got.
Till next time
Peace Out Ya'll
