Who's a Fat Bastard - Sleepy Puppies

May 15, 2014

Today, I had my first true moments of temptation. No , more than temptation. More like that feeling after not smoking for 2 weeks. You know, that feeling. That gut curling craving and absolute certainty that you could just have 1 cigarette.
There must be 30 fast food restaurants between my house and my destination in Mount Pleasant.
Tim Horton's: large coffee, 3 cream, 20 timbits, Dutchies if you have them!
KFC: Toonie Tuesday? I'll take two!
A&W: I hate your commercials, love the Papa Burger.
Burger King: Whopper and fries.
And of course
McDonalds: Junior chicken, McDouble and a small fries $4.76. How can you afford not to eat at Rotten Ronnie's!
I was literally drooling as I drove past each and every giant garish plastic sign. It's Siren song loud in my head "Eat me Squatch, Eat me."
I turned up the radio. Senile 650. Dean Martin was singing about Pizza Pies. I switched to team 1040, they were talking about the fired coach, Tortellini......mmmm Pasta. Everywhere I turned I was bombarded with images of food. Finally, I reached my destination, visions of sugar plums still dancing in my head. Only to find I was 1 of 6 actors up for this radio spot. A restaurant chain of course.
After my 30 second audition, stomach rumbling, for no good reason. I had breakfast and lunch.

I came up with a plan.
I would take the back way home over Burnaby Mountain.  Perhaps not as helpful as I had hoped. First it's The Pink Pearl, then On Lok, Eddies, Antons the list goes on and on. I turn onto the Burnaby Mountain Speedway safe in the knowledge that there would be no food outlets for a while. When all of a sudden a deer jumped out in front of me. Through my mind flashed a single thought.....mmmmmm venison.
I feel incredibly lazy today. I was so busy with paperwork and then the audition. I didn't ride the maiden or walk the lake. I will make up for it tomorrow. I did however stick to my diet.
About 6 o'clock we decided to go to Spanish Banks West, the Dog Beach. Lisa's twin brother Steve and our friend Lyndsey met us there with a bag full of goodies from T&N Market. That's a large Asian supermarket. They brought a whole BBQ duck and a lb of roast pork. They also brought a collection of deep fried carb bombs that I chose to ignore. I brought day old salad and some pickles.

As many of you know, Lisa and I love to travel. We have been to exotic places and seen amazing sights. From Bali Hai to the Grand Canyon. From Times Square to The Great Barrier Reef.           Yet of all the places we've been, one of our favourite places is right here in Vancouver. Spanish Banks West, it has the most beautiful sunsets. Even though it's 40 minutes from our place we head down there 4 or 5 times a month.
This is why.

I just put the dogs in at the end for a cheap, Aaaawww. It's a great spot if you own a dog or just love dogs. The sunsets are always different and always special.
Wow, I will have this one posted by midnight. Along with my soon to be thong ready body. My typing has improved greatly. I now use 2 fingers on each hand!
That's all I got for now.
Till next time
Peace Out Ya'll
