Sunny morning and a sunny smile Bella |
Monday morning was amazing. The Sun was shining, it was 9 o'clock in the morning and already it was 22 degrees. This is the weather we didn't get all weekend. Isn't that always the way? Sunday was more of the same. The same cloudy grey sky stretching as far as you could see that we've had for days. So don't move here! I like Sundays. The lovely Lisa and I lounge around till noon or so munching on fruit and yogurt. Not this Sunday Christian and Jen and the Grandkids came to the house. Christian helped me put up one more joist under the deck. It took about an hour of hard work to get it in place because I had already screwed down the deck.

Then we went to visit Mama Lee. I took her some more cherries the other day and her fingers are still stained red. It's hard for the lovely Lisa to see her Mom like this. I know it's often difficult for me and she's not my Mom.
From there we were off to Stupor Store for Chef Boy R Lisa's work shop. After only 5 or 6 weeks of struggling with a cart piled up like the Grinch's sled, we took 2 carts. I know everything that she buys so I start at one end of the store, Yogurts, sodas, Hippy bread, chocolate milk, Almond Dream and 3 tubs of ice cream. We were done in less than half the time. It took longer to bag it than it did to buy it. I still haven't figured out how letting me bag $400 worth of groceries is either convenient or efficient for the giant line forming behind me. What the hell we got free Blueberries!
FREE I SAY!!!! FREEEEEEE!!!! |
I sparked up the BBQ. We had some beautiful filet mignon that Chef Boy R Lisa had cut out of a tenderloin we bought with our points.
I threw together a Squatch Salad and boiled up some corn on the cob. The steaks were perfect! 2 inch thick 5 minutes one side 4 minutes on the turn. It was a beautiful thing. Then the lovely Lisa went to bed and I went down to Rocky Point Brew Pub for the open Mic. I had a really good time playing with Chris on lead guitar, Luc on bass, Devin on drums Me on rhythm guitar and singing and Richard, when he wasn't taking pictures jumping in on acoustic guitar. We played Can't you see, House of the Rising Sun and Flip Flop and Fly. I really like playing with these guys they're such really good musicians. The bass and drums were in sync and powerful and Chris did solos on Can't you see and House of the Rising Sun that drew applause from the audience. It was a rush for sure. To make that connection with a crowd. To be up there playing when someone is in the groove is pretty cool. I'm lucky they let me play with them.
I had to do a little more shopping for Chef Boy R Lisa. Skewers for frozen chocolate bananas and cheese cloth for ????
Then I went to the Fireside for their open Mic. I was the only performer there until the other Dave showed up. I did a half an hour of originals Dave did half an hour of Jazzified covers of old rock tunes for half an hour then we played together for another hour taking turns picking songs. He's 70 years old and a good player. I had a great time. I just like to play.
After a few phone calls this morning and a cup of Jo with Michele, who is losing her mind because all her new ID is 2 L's instead of one. She's been arguing with them for a couple of weeks now." I don't want your stinkin L" You should tell them that. Everything else I did today is on the video.

I was going to go play at the Heritage Grill tonight but stayed home, watched episodes of the Mentalist and wrote this post.
That's all I've got
Till next time
Peace out Y'all
