Return of the fat bastard - Down in the Dumps

July 13th 2016

Buddies
The thing about building things is it is messy. There's a lot of cleanup involved. Not really my forte, just ask the lovely Lisa. This time however there was no room for procrastination! At 10 o'clock with 4 cups of Jo in me, I tackled the job.
The weather is clearing up nicely. Otherwise I never would have done it. That's for sure! Otto would have to live out in the cold and rain. But the sun came out. Before I get to that though, I had to go pick up Bella and Christo. Michelle's 2 year old grandson Evan was coming over to visit.

Sorry, it's not a visit, it's a playdate! Evan just thinks that Christo is the cat's pajamas!

He follows him around like Christo used to follow around Matty. Matty is in the Okanagan right now with his mom and his baby sister at Tamara's parent's house. It's much quieter around here. Coincedence? Evidently they put a heater on their pool this year. I got a big case of swimming pool envy. They have a nice in-ground pool. You have seen my pool! Bella was a real swinger.
Wheeeeee
While all this was going on the lovely Lisa was nursing her wounded eye. On Monday while at work a bungee cord that holds the fridge door closed on the truck  popped off and hit Chef Boy R Lisa right on the eyeball. She went to the opthamologist in Langley where they were shooting. And there was no damage to the retina. A lot of broken blood vessels. And what a day she had on top of all that she worked a 20-hour shift. She let me take a picture of her eyeball.

It's looking way better than it did. This is the second time in about a month that this has happened. Last time it was the other eye but missed the eyeball and hit the orbital bone cutting her and giving her a shiner! I wouldn't go out in public with her for a week or so. I don't need the evil looks from people that assume I popped her one. We have first hand experience with that.
Before we were married we took a six week camping trip down the coast of Mexico. I booked one week in a condo in Puerta Vallarta in the middle of the trip and other than that we tented. My theory being any woman who could spend five weeks in a tent with me is a keeper! We were camped in a small town Manzanillo near Tenacatita or as I called it Tencansotittys. While there our dog Sam walked out onto the reef and cut his paw. Back at the campground the lovely Lisa and I were playing Tennis when on a Rod Laver like overhead smash my shoulder exploded. I found out later that I had torn my rotator cuff and also tore the muscle off the bone. I was in a sling for the rest of the trip. That night while we were sleeping the lovely Lisa was bitten by a spider or something. Right below her eye. You could see the bite mark through the swelling. It was black and blue and nearly closed. Now here's a visual for you. We are walking down the main street of Barre De Navidad, a three legged dog, a giant in a sling and a tiny woman with a huge shiner. The looks we were getting! We had planned to go all the way down to Acalpulco. We looked at each other and said "Screw this, let's go home. Some day when I have nothing else to say I'll fill you in. Man that was a trip!
In the middle of the afternoon the lovely Lisa went for a nap. Between her eye and her 20 hour day she was still bagged. "We'll go to Spanish Banks for the sunset " She said as she toddled off to bed. Michelle was kind enough to look after the kids while the lovely Lisa was down for the count and I was trapsing back and forth from the dump. She even baked cookies with them.

Two trips to the dump and I was ready for a shower. More than ready really, I also had absorbed that delightful dump smell. Even I was offended by the rancid smells wafting from my corpulent frame!
Spanish Banks another day. The lovely Lisa was in a coma. It was 8:00 when she got up. Perhaps roused by the smell of the burgers on the BBQ. I had made a nice Squatch Salad to go with the cheeseburgers. We sat on the new and improved front deck and had a nice dinner with LG 104.3 Blues Lounge playing in the background. It starts at 8:00 and I like it because they play a lot of Canadian musicians that I know. Jim Byrnes, Brickhouse and Powder Blues to name a few. The lovely Lisa was back in bed by 10:00. I puttered with the blog. Mostly editing the video. You would think it would be easier to just video everything but Nooooooo!
Any way it's now 10:00 am and I'm just about done. Telus just called and they are going to upgrade my internet today. The signal isn't reaching Michele when I'm on the WIFI.

That's all I've got
Till next time
Peace out Y'all
