The most beautiful place on Earth...Stay away it's raining! |
We never did get to the sour cherries this year because I don't want Lisa to make pie or Jam or anything else that tastes good. One year we picked about 30 pounds of sour cherries from our friend Amy's backyard. Lisa made about 10 pies and 20 jars of Jam. And if I remember correctly I ate eight of those pies and 17 jars of jam! Hard to believe I was 350 pounds.
I had a lot of piddly little things to do today. The light on the back deck wasn't working so I took it apart there was a little bit of corrosion but it did seem to still be getting power through. So I cleaned it up, put it back together, screwed in a new bulb and, nothing! I went and got another bulb screwed it in, nothing. So I went and got a bulb out of a fixture that I knew was working I plugged it in and voila, let there be light! And there was. So what I'm trying to say is I would not recommend buying Walmart Great Value bulbs. 3 or 4 out of the 8 were duds. Great Value my ass.
Michele wanted to have a bath. Neither the lovely Lisa or myself take baths. We are shower people. I got an issue with hot tubs too. I don't understand where the pleasure of sitting around in a stew of your own dead skin cells and possible anal leakage comes from. I prefer my leakage to go straight down the drain! Anyway the point of that being we had taken out the push down plug and replaced it with a regular plug because the Grandkids kept sitting on the push down plug and letting all the water out. We couldn't find the regular plug and the push down plug was missing a gasket. In a MacGyver like moment we wrapped a Safeway shopping bag around the push plug and it worked. Michele could have her bath and Christmas was saved!
" Can you meet me in Langley at noon?" Came a familiar voice over the phone.
" absolutely" I said. Since Mary moved out to Chilliwack we hardly get to see her anymore. Well I gotta tell you. It was not exactly the nicest day to head across the Port Mann Bridge. The wind was blowing and the mist from the trucks on the bridge reduced visibility to the nose of the truck.
Typical Vancouver summer...nothing to see here. |
August 13th 2016 @ Casa Lisa. (Shameless Plug) We had a nice little visit and the rain actually let up a little but coming back across the Port Mann Bridge it looked like half the mountain was missing the fog was down so low.
That's Blue Mountain straight ahead...today I have my head in the clouds |

After Lea left I got to work on that lock for Michele's door. Great! The new lock doesn't fit the old hole. After 40 minutes or so of fiddling around trying to put the square peg in the round hole, I took the old lock upstairs with the intention of taking it with me to Rona. Just to make sure I get the right size lock. On a whim I remembered seeing a ring full of keys in the top drawer of the credenza. There were about 30 different keys on this ring. And I didn't have a clue what a single one of them opened. Until now. Two of the keys fit the old lock. I reinstalled the old lock and will return the other lock to Rona.
Last night at the open mic at the Heritage Grill, every Monday at 8 o'clock, burger and a beer $11. Come out and support live music. (Another Plug) I was invited to a Songwriter's showcase at the back room of the Heritage Grill for tonight. I hadn't heard from Chef Boy R Lisa and it started at 7 o'clock I was about to leave at 6:30 when I got the call. The lovely Lisa was headed home. "Order Chinese from the Austin Diner/ Red Star Restaurant" she said "I'm starving!" I wanted to say don't you work on a truck where you make food for 250 people all day long. You would think some food would fall into your mouth if just by accident! Instead I said "Yes dear" and ordered dinner. Beef chop suey, chicken chow mein and dry garlic pork, sweet and sour on the side. That's the combo B only ordered seperately. I was just unpacking the bags when the lovely Lisa pulled into the driveway. She's having a crazy week. Three days on Lucifer then back on Once Upon a Time for the start of Season 6.
I got an email from wardrobe for the film I'm doing on the 18th. I sent her my new and improved sizes. Looking forward to going to set. It's getting late and I'm tired. It's been raining for 3 days and already I'm whining. Man us left coasters got it rough. It rains here all the time. So stay away!!
P.S. If you enjoy reading this blog please share it with your friends. If you didn't enjoy reading it share it with your friends anyway, they can find out the hard way just like you did!
