Return of the Fat Bastard - Some kind of weird chocolate milk shortage

August 8th 2016
I was so lamo with the pics! From Kauai

We had a plan. Unfortunately that plan was based on false information given by an idiot! Insert my name here! I hope I do a better job proofreading my blog than I do proofreading an email. I read the time I received the email as the time of my upcoming appointment today. So I'm all up and ready and planning my day around my 11 o'clock appointment which is at 4:30 this afternoon.
The issue I am now having goes all the way back to our weekend in Portland. Lisa's car was doing a horrible Shimmy Shake kind of thing at highway speeds when you touched the brakes. The brakes that she just had done a month ago! So I dropped her car off at the mechanics last night after I played a set at the Open Mic at the Rocky Point brew pub. I had a really fun set. My friend Gerry was there with his sax and I love playing with a saxophone player. The rest of the band was made up of Richard on guitar Chris on bass and Devin on drums. We played songs that I knew the Sax would rock on!
After I had finished playing I texted Michelle with one L to come down and meet me at the pub so I could get a ride home after dropping off the lovely Lisa's car. We are only 5 or 6 minutes away from Port Moody. Basically if you fall down the north side of the mountain from our house you will end up in Port Moody, the city of Arts. That's how they bill themselves. I don't even know who Art is? Or how many of them live in Port Moody?
When we got back to the house after dropping off the car the lovely Lisa had already been in bed for 2 or 3 hours. I was on again, off again about going to the Fireside for their Open Mic at 8:30. but I was feeling the music in me and out I went. I'm glad I did. There was more audience than musicians and I did an hour long set with bass, drums and a different sax player. I was home with the lovely Lisa's chocolate milk before she even knew I was gone. There was some kind of weird chocolate milk shortage going on yesterday. I went to five different stores looking for it. Everyone was sold out of the four liter jugs of chocolate wonderfulness. Not only did I get the 3, four liter jugs she wanted, they were on sale for $3.13. Gotta Love a bargain!
Otto was back on the road before noon but Michele with one L was off wrestling with the DMV who gave her the extra L to begin with but that's a story for another day. Maybe on a slow news day.
I did some running around then met up with Michelle with one L to drive Otto and pick up Chef Boy R Lisa at the studio around 3pm. Down to German Auto Cars in Port Moody to pick up Otto. The rotors were replaced under warranty and they fixed a couple of little things. They have always done the work on Otto since we've had him. We took the Barnett into North Burnaby and I parked her across the street from the main gate of the studio and headed into my appointment. I had to stop at Bazaar and Novelty at Main and Terminal for a few Pirate Flags for Squatchapalisa 14, Pirates for Peace, this Saturday. Bastards, sold out, I even called them on Friday! Time to go into scramble mode. Later though, I have to get focused on my appointment.
It went well. At this point in my career everyone knows what I do, or think they do. I have a whole different attitude and approach to my acting and my life. Every day when I look in the mirror and see that jagged scar on my chest, when I think about all the friends I've said goodbye to this year, I can't help but wonder why me. One person lives, one person dies. Is there a plan or is it just random, the luck of the draw. It puts everything into perspective. Pre Zipper I would try to give them what I thought they wanted to see. Now I don't even read the direction, Just the lines. Get the part, don't get the part, it doesn't really matter. Stay true to myself and have fun. Everyday like it's your last. One day it will be! Man, that went sideways in a hurry! I was home before the lovely Lisa was in bed. We had a nice spaghetti dinner that Chef boy R Lisa had brought home. Here`s a handy hint from the kitchens of Casa Lisa. If you are reheating pasta don`t nuke it. Fry it in a frying pan with olive oil  or better yet...Butter! It warms it up quickly without changing the texture of the pasta.
Then I stopped by the hospital to visit a friend who had a fall. It was on my way to the open mic at the Heritage Grill.
Pre Open Mic

I told him not to even think about taking a cab if they release him. I`m only 5 minutes away and he is well medicated. At the Heritage I was first up. Dale on bass, Greg on guitar and Rob on drums. I had a lot of fun, we played up tempo blues and had the crowd going pretty good. Greg can play guitar. I had Linda taking pictures for me. I should have given her a lesson. My camera is old school, half way to focus all the way to take the picture. I guess what I`m saying is I got no pictures from my 20 minute set. I sure had a good time. I got the call just before I got on stage. They were keeping my friend in overnight. I was planning on taking him some donuts but it was after 10 by the time I was leaving the Grill so I`ll see him tomorrow.
On the Tomato Baron front the first ripe tomato disappeared overnight!
The Tomato that went missing!

They're all coming now! I need sun!!
Every year the lovely Lisa and I share the first ripe everything with each other. We shared the first cherry, we shared the first strawberry, we shared the first, and only fig and we shared the first apple. I think Nutmeg ate the first tomato it was right at her eye level and she does like tomatoes. Either that or a rat! It's been a bad year for rats. I'm seeing them all the time, even during the day! The rest of the tomatoes are coming along nicely. Lots of color showing we should be eating homegrown tomatoes by the weekend.

That`s all I`ve got
Till next time
Peace out Yàll
