Valentines boxing day. The day after Valentines Day when the chocolates go on sale half price. The lovely Lisa and I decided years ago that we would not participate in the Hallmark holiday. We would not make reservations two weeks early, I would not spend $100 on flowers and joy of joys, she wears neither jewelry or perfume. It doesn't make sense, for theses reasons, she's a better chef than any restaurant in this town has. Our garden and home is always full of living plants, why would I want to bring in dead ones? The lovely Lisa sparkles in my eyes every time I look at her and honestly, she smells pretty good already! Instead we do what we do on all the holidays. We make sure we give each other the only thing we have of value. Ourselves, our time and our love. It was our fifteenth Valentines Boxing Day together and I never tire of the time we spend together.
I spent most of the morning writing the blog. Catching up on the flyby that was our weekend. It seems like we were only there for moments and there were so many people that we didn't see while we were there but Hey, life gets in the way. I told the lovely Lisa that next time we should rent a hall in the middle of the Island and have everyone meet us there. I think that you are all so incredibly fortunate to live in such a beautiful place. To all of you we did see, thank you so much for keeping us a part of your lives. We had a great time and we love you all very much. For those of you who we didn't see. We really did think about you as we drove past. I believe that we keep our friends close to our hearts and in our thoughts always. We wish we had more time to visit there. But we don't, so get over it!
After my fifth cup of Joe, with my blog posted the lovely Lisa told me that Bro Steve was coming by after visiting with Mama Lee and that we were going to Tentatsu for lunch. I then suggested we take our clubs and the Rat dogs and play Rupert Park Pitch N Putt after lunch. I love it when a plan comes together. The lovely Lisa drove in with Bro Steve so they could discuss what kind of an
A Hole I've been. They won't have much to talk about. I've been a perfect A Hole all weekend! Me and the Rat dogs were on our own. I found parking a block from the restaurant and walked back to meet up with the lovely Lisa and Bro Steve who were already seated when I got there. Have I ever mentioned that they are twins? Bro Steve is eight minutes older. I don't try to figure it out. They got weird twin crap going on all the time. I ordered my usual lunch,
Teri Chicken, Salad, Sumonomo and Chicken Karage, that's tempura battered chicken thighs. I didn't care what they ordered until they went off road with something called a Panorama Roll. When it came it was one of those rolls that look so good you don't want to eat it. It was delicious!
Real crab and salmon. It was more expensive than any one of our lunches! Definitely was worth it. My favourite restaurant.
Bro Steve said his goodbyes out front and the lovely Lisa and I walked up to the truck past the fruit stores and nail salons. How do the Rat dogs know we are close. I could here Elvis barking from around the corner and across the street! When we turn the corner we see his little head sticking up and as soon as he sees us he stops barking. Was he barking the whole time? Is that what the annoying little Rat dog has been doing? I have come out to check on him before and he hasn't been barking. What if he just stops when he sees me? Devious little Rat bastard.
The golf at Rupert Park is free from november until around April. They say it's cheaper than paying the staff to run the place. I would say the word is out, at least in the dope smoking slacker community. Every time the sun comes out, the place is crawling with Budmeisters. Have you ever played golf behind a group of six Stoners playing with one club each! Twice they left the only putter on the previous green. On the front nine we were able to get in seven holes by jumping the Stoner group and looping back. By the time we got through the ninth hole there were hippies everywhere. Every hole had someone in rubber boots and dreadlocks sparking up a doob. I hated to leave! The lovely Lisa was kicking my ass anyway.

On the way home we stopped to shop for dinner and a few things Chef Boy R Lisa needed for work. The strip loin is no longer on sale. It now costs three times as much as it did last week. After I cruised the used meat section.
Discount fish? Easier to sell without the french! |
I bought chicken. I make my own shake and bake. Once I realised that it was bread crumbs and seven types of salt I started doing my own.
Panko crushed, Garlic powder, Montreal Chicken spice, ground pepper, Parmesan cheese and oregano from the garden. Make an eggwash with cream to moisten the chicken and, it makes the skin really crispy. Cook for forty-five minutes at 400 degrees. Cheap, easy and healthy. Just like me!
Second helping of chicken. |
Chef boy R Lisa has a 1:00 wake up call. We had our dinner in front of the TV watching Family Feud on PVR. They only take twenty-one minutes that way. And then she was gone. It was almost 7:00 and she needed to get to sleep so I packed up the Rat dogs and went to see the Grandkids. We had some chocolate for Valentines Boxing Day for them. Bella was more interested in playing with Nutmeg than she was in chocolate and Christo was still working on a slushy. After the kids went to bed we were off. Jen is working six days this week and Christian goes back to work some time this week so Papa Squatch Dayscare rides again!
That's all I've got
Till Next time
Peace out Y'all
