Who's a Fat Bastard - Mole boy memorial exercise mat

November 23 2014
A reflection of Christmas.
I thought Sunday was a day of rest and football. Not around here. Not today anyways. I got out of bed about 8:30 because I still had a blog to do. It was mostly written but it was still a rough draft.
It was in pieces in six different emails and needed to be organised.
Once again the lovely Lisa was out of bed before me. Drippy Joe in hand I made my way down to the office. I was just getting rolling when I was reminded by the lovely Lisa that we were going to Michelle's for 10:30 in North Vancouver.
I was only a little more than halfway done with yesterday's Blog when the lovely Lisa informed me that she was ready to go. That was around 9:30. I stopped the important stuff I was doing,
got dressed and put on my shoes, made myself a go cup of drippy Joe and waited with my hat and coat by the door. For fifteen minutes or so. I had finished my drippy Joe to go, so I made another one for the drive to North Vancouver. At 10:10 when we left our place it was still raining pretty good. By the time we got to Burnaby Lakes on highway one the Sun was coming out. The view of the mountains was amazing today.
Sunshine and wet roads
We had the radio cranked up, Jack FM was doing the eighties weekend. That's right in the lovely Lisa's wheelhouse. The playlist had her singing along with the B 52's and Cyndi Lauper . She should sing more, she has quite a nice voice. I thought my gravelly voice added quite a bit of character to Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!
It was a beautiful morning for a car ride and all was good with my world. I'm telling myself that because I have been a bad uncle Squatch. I have known Michelle's daughter Krista since she was three years old. That was 30 years ago. Krista had a baby almost a year ago. His name is Evan, and I had yet to meet him. Grandma Michele was babysitting Evan overnight and Krista was going to pick him up at 11:00. Seemed like the perfect time to see the whole family. We got there at 10:30 and Evan was asleep. Hey, he's been waiting fifty weeks to meet me, what's another half an hour.
Michele made us coffee. Not drippy Joe I'm sure! She's a bit of a coffee snob. We took Elvis and Nutmeg out in the backyard so they could do their business and do a little exploring.

Elvis got skunk sprayed here two years ago. He returns to the scene of the crime every time we visit. Elvis has been sprayed three times! I think he likes it. Michele only stayed out in the yard for a minute. She's a new first-time Grandma and keeps a pretty close eye on the little guy, even when he's asleep. She finally couldn't take it anymore and went and woke him up just after 11:00. The little guy flipped over Elvis and Nutmeg.

He came to me no problem. It's hard to believe but some little kids find me scary. No problem with Evan he wanted me to pick him up. As a matter of fact it turns out he's a football fan and he asked me to put the game on.

"That Tom Brady sure is a good quarterback." Evan said to me.
I'm paraphrasing here for you and interpreting from gibberish to English. He was definitely digging the football.
Krista and her husband Anthony took advantage of having Grandma babysitting to go for lunch. Michele made lunch for Evan and as she was feeding Evan, Evan was feeding Nutmeg.

After lunch, with no Krista in sight, I told the lovely Lisa that we needed to go. I can only be amused by a one year old for so long. It was now 1:30, I was hungry. The Seahawks were playing football and I wasn't watching. That's not right.
The lovely Lisa, not overly happy about having to leave Michele's took the longest possible drive home. Including a shopping stop at Cheap Thrills. I ate an apple in the car on the way back to the house. Once we were home I made ham and cheese lettuce wraps. I brought my "Mole Boy Memorial" exercise mat up into the living room and I did my work out while I watched the second half of the Seattle Seahawks game.

The lovely Lisa took the dogs and went to visit Mama Lee.
Belly Crunches, Side Lifts, Front Lifts, and No Stairs Stretches.
Ten sets of ten.

Seattle look good. Dominating the game in the second half and they easily beat the first place Arizona Cardinals.
The lovely Lisa returned home and I went and had a shower.
When I got out of the shower, the lovely Lisa had a chicken all prepped and ready to go into the oven for roasting. I made a Squatch salad and prepped some asparagus. While the chicken was roasting I sat and watched while the lovely Lisa hung up yet more lights. It's like a Christmas Casino!

After I pulled the chicken out of the oven I turned on the asparagus. By the time the asparagus is done the chicken will have rested nicely. Always rest your bird. You don't want to eat a tired chicken! I used the drippings from the chicken and a pack of Knorr  gravy mix to make gravy. I added hot sauce to the finished gravy and mixed it in well. It was great for Dunkin chicken! Taking our biggest chef knife I cut the chicken right in half.

I had a Squatch salad asparagus and chicken the lovely Lisa had baked potato as well.

We watch the news together as we ate our dinner. Then I was banished to tiny TV town for the Canucks game. Its not that bad in there. The TV isn't really tiny, it's just not High Def. Between periods of the Canucks game I watched the Giants/ Cowboys  Sunday Night Football game. It was the best Sunday night game this year.
The Canucks game was over about 9:30. I came out into the living room to find the lovely Lisa asleep on the couch. I woke her up.
She went to the bedroom got into her pajamas and I tucked her in.
Since then I've been writing this blog. I'm pretty tired too.

That's all I've got
Till next time
Peace out Y'all

P.S. I didn't realise that this is my 200th post on Who's a Fat Bastard until this morning. I had planned to make a big deal out of it. Now that I have already written an entire blog with no mention of what I consider to be a milestone, or millstone, depending on how I feel that particular day. I want to thank all of you who read this. I draw so much energy and inspiration from you.
I need things to write about. It makes me do things. Believe me, I have spent enough time sitting on the couch thinking about what I was going to do to last me a lifetime. Now I just Do It.
Oh yeah It was Weigh Day.

Up a couple but not concerned. Hangin tough. Christmas is going to be a Bitch!!
