September 29th and 30th 2016
September 30th Spanish Banks |
I seem to be down to one blog every two days. I don't know why, it just is. The thing is I went and read some of the two day ones and I'm all over the place. I jump from day to day and even into the now which is already the past but further ahead than yesterday but by the time I post this it could be a new yesterday!
Yesterday I played a lot of guitar and took down the pool. I had to get the water from the rain.storm out of the pool so I dragged out my eight gallon shop vac and started sucking, and sucking and sucking. I took the pool broom to remove the algae that had grown into velvet on the bottom of thepool. I ended filling the shop vac thirty six times. That's like, three hundred gallons. About one hundred gallons of which ended up in my shoes!
At least it was warm. It took me about three hours to take it down by myself. Not that I worked that hard at it. I'd come in the house, have an ice tea, watch some Austrailian Rules politics from the Excited States then shaking my head finished taking down the pool.
After watching the Blue Jays choke on their own vomit I sparked up the BBQ as the lovely Lisa seasoned the Beef tenderloin. We bought a full tenderloin when it was on sale at Stuporstore using points. It's like it was free and we got sixteen beautiful Filet Mignon sans bacon. I don't care for bacon. It's too salty. My least favorite part of a pig which, as I have said before, is my favorite animal slaughtered for my dining enjoyment! Served with peas and perogies, yum. We had an old folks Friday night. We watched some TV talked to Dr Dan on the phone. I missed the Canada / Europe Hockey game but then, who cares? It just never captured my imagination. Then at 9:30 the lovely Lisa went to bed. I followed her twenty minutes later and she was already asleep. She uses the sleep timer so the TV was still on I switched the station to a recording of the Mentalist. Five minutes later "I was watching that" the lovely Lisa chirped as she drifted back off to sleep. Just as the big reveal was about to happen the sleep timer shut down the TV. I had the remote in my hand and turned everything back on yet it still pissed me off.
I had set my alarm for 6:30 am for the trip to the airport to pick up Michelle with one L after her
twenty one days on Maui. I was up and out the door cup of Jo to go in hand by 7:45 got out to the car turned around and went back in the house to get my wallet, phone and most importantly the car keys! If I had the keys I would have just driven away without my wallet and my phone. I did it twice last week. Once at Cheap Thrills with a cart full of groceries. Ooops. I needed the full hour plus to make my way across town from Coquitlam to the airport. I was on time and so was Michelle with one L I sat in the loading zone for less than three minutes when she came sauntering out all tanned and smiling...Beotch! Still jealous! Though we did book a trip to Las Vegas for November 21 - 25. Viva Las Vegas!
We got an invite to a dinner party at Tom Fulton's we already have plans but Tom is an excellent host and for a Scotsman an exceptional cook. No grey meat and totties at Tommy's! The lovely Lisa is all helped up for the beach. Maybe we can do both. Yeah, that sounds like a plan.
I had to book and then cancel two Mani / Pedi appointments last week and Mama Lee is getting frantic so I called the Nail Salon and they could take us at 3:00. I ordered a handicap Taxi for 2:30 and worked on my books for an hour. This year I will be ready! I hope. I worked on the books for fifteen minutes and played a game for forty five minutes. Like they say " The best laid plans" Maybe I'll just panic at the deadline as usual!
The lovely Lisa and I drove over to Mama Lee's. The Taxi was already there. He was ten minutes early and was in no hurry. We collected Mama Lee and he loaded her into the cab for the short ride to Loughheed mall. We were at the salon twenty minutes early. Helen, my favorite, was available early,

Mama Lee and the lovely Lisa |
We were barely through the door when they scooped up Mama Lee for her shower. Not even a goodbye. I sat in the lobby waiting for the lovely Lisa to come pick me up and drop off Mama Lee's shopping. When the lovely Lisa arrived we put Mama Lee's stuff away and chatted with the staff for a few minutes. We feel very fortunate that we got Mama Lee into this care facility. It only has fifty five beds and the staff have always been great with Mama Lee and with us. Plus it's five minutes from home so I stop in most every day and I think that makes a difference in the amount of attention she receives, that and the trays of deserts that Chef Boy R Lisa drops off.
Science World on the way to Spanish Banks |
It was nearly 5:00 when we got home. We packed up the Ratdogs and a guitar, threw some food in the cooler and we were out the door and headed for Spanish Banks before 6:00. Sunset was at 7:28.
