I'm sure everyone has a rainy day list. Mine is about 40 items long. Well today was that rainy day. Most of the things on my tray need a list of things that I have already halfway completed. Then the Sun comes out I stop whatever I'm doing and go play golf. Subsequently only one of two light fixtures is installed in the green room. And after a full day of puttering around there's still only one light in the green room.
I did however manage to waste half an hour gluing the bridge back on my ukulele that only has three strings.
Three strings, four strings what's the difference they all sound the same to me. I have to be careful what I say, those Ukelele players travel in packs!
I did the pool treatments in the rain. One litre of liquid pool chlorine. $3.49 I gallon of Javex $2.39. Okay, it turned a kids hair orange last year, Hey, he thought it was pretty cool. His Mom ....not so much!
While I was doing the pool the rain slowed down to the usual wet air we on the left coast are so familiar with. It seemed like I could see the cherries getting bigger as they absorbed the rain. I climbed up on the ladder and was immediately drenched as the still wet leaves released there liquid all at once. I picked/ate a dozen or so cherries before the next wave of rain came through thunder and lightning driving me off the ladder and scrambling for shelter. Up a cherry tree on an aluminum ladder didn't seem like such a great idea. When I got dried off and into the house the Ratdogs were apoplectic with fear! I sat with them for half an hour until Nutmeg stopped panting and shaking. Elvis is a little better he's old and it only takes him a couple of minutes to forget what scared him.
Christian stopped by and helped me move a bunch of stuff up from the green room in preperation for our friend Michele moving in.The attic is filling up fast! But the green room is ready to go...almost. I think tomorrow I'll do a how to install a flush mount ceiling light video.
I can't find my drill. That's why I didn't get the shelves up in the laundry room. I did however finish the laundry that I left in the dryer yesterday.
I played guitars. In the living room my acoustic and in the office my electric. Between songs I folded laundry, watched the Bluejays game, sorted 3 boxes of crap from the green room. Almost all of which is Value Village bound.
It was now 3 in the afternoon and I had eaten nothing but a dose of Metamucil and six cups of Jo. I had a leftover Squatch salad in the fridge and had two big bowls of it with my homemade Italian dressing. I trimmed my tomato plants on the front deck. They're doing real well. Some I grew from seed and some I paid .50 for at RONA. I got the recycling and the compost ready for pick up tomorrow morning.
Time to get dinner going. Chef Boy R Lisa went to work at 3 am so she should be home about
7 pm. I have a nice boneless lamb roast I'm going to dress with herbs and stud with garlic. I cranked up the oven to 450 and prepped the Lamb when the oven was ready I put it in and turned the oven down to 350 and set the timer for 90 minutes. I peeled, cubed and parboiled 2 potatoes and prepped the asparagus. I tossed the potatoes in olive oil and chopped cilantro and put them in the oven for the last 30 minutes. I'm trying to be descriptive because I was lamo with the camera. I set the thermometer for medium rare and the alarm went off 15 minutes after the lovely Lisa got home. I let the lamb rest while I steamed the asparagus.

After dinner the lovely Lisa went to bed and I packed up the Ratdogs for a visit with G McT. The Ratdogs dogpiled as soon as they got through the door. I had coffee and we talked baseball and football and Basketball and all the other ball stuff that guys talk about including hockey even though they don't use a ball. Unless it's ball hockey. He's looking a little better these days and is in pretty good spirits. His eye surgery went very well and he's happy to be able to see again. One eye done, one to go!
I have to go readers digest on the rest of this. It's getting late and I have a full day tomorrow. I got home and started taking the trash and recycling out into the back alley. I was busted! The bylaw officer caught me putting out the garbage and compost. It's not supposed to go out until 6 am because of the bear issues. He let me off with a warning but said next time it's $150 fine. I dragged the bins back to their place and set my alarm..
As I have mentioned we have been getting lots of cherries off our tree. Usually the birds get most of the cherries but this year we hung up CDs in the trees and it scared away the birds. It however does seem to attract the Racoons. They flash in the light and throw the light all over the yard. It's like a Racoon Rave. I heard a noise out front and there were at least two up the tree digging the lights and stuffing their faces. I can't believe I didn't take a picture.
That's all I've got
Till next time
Peace out Y'all
Photo of Racooon Rave Party next please Dave!!!!!!! I'm exhausted reading your post. Sleep well and get your hypo on tomorrow :)
