Return of the Fat Bastard - It looked like pee so I considered leaving it and blaming Elvis!

September 15th 2016

It wasn't me!
Me either.

Its been a few days since I posted anything to my blog. That's because I have been in an antibiotic induced coma! I have been on antibiotics for 63 days since my heart surgery last December. They really seem to take it out of me. No energy, I feel mentally slow and dull. Trust me, it's a big deal when you start out slow and dull to begin with! Ive been doing some stuff around the house but at a reduced energy level. My heart just isn't in it. Today was my last day on the antibiotics and I'm hoping to pick it up around here before it starts raining. I say the same thing every year and every year I end up trudging around in the rain trying to get all the summer crap put away. I have made room for all the chairs in the middle shed but have yet to move a chair in that direction. I have most of the lumber I need to put together another shed for the bikes I'm using the 4x4 post I need as an excuse to stare at it wistfully. The bikes are three years old, I had to cut the weeds out of the spokes to get them to roll I guess I'll be missing the Tour De France again this year!. Besides I look like the bear in the circus when I'm on it! I cleaned out the tool shed there must have been two pounds of Rat crap in there! Time to relocate the traps from the front deck.
Nutmeg, lazier than me!
It turns out I'm not a tool guy. I once thought I was a tool guy. Subsequently I have tools. I have tools that I don't know what they're for or how to use them. They pretty much live in a pile on the workbench that never sees any work because it's covered in tools! I will try to get it organized in the next day or two.
I had an appointment with  Gus the wonder nurse at the Doctors. I've been in a diabetes drug study for five years and have appointments every three months. The drug is on the market now Invokana is the name. It lets your body pee out excess sugars. Its worked really well for me and now its over. The study is ending in November and I will no longer get my drugs for free. Bastards! My Doctor was very happy with where I'm at health wise. He's been my Doctor for twenty five years and he's a Newfie, no bullshit from him. I didn't always listen to him, but that never stopped him from telling me in no uncertain terms that I was going to die young if I didn't quit what I was doing. It took ten years and meeting the lovely Lisa before it sank in and I started taking care of myself. Its been two and a half years since I started the Fat Bastard, trying to change my life style and get healthy. If there is one thing I have learned in those two and a half years of healthy living, it can't make up for forty five years of excess! On the other hand, heart surgery can! Ive got all new plumbing now. A Mulligan if you will. So far so good. Now if I can only get this freakin infection thing under control!
The lovely Lisa had a dentist appointment in Port Moody so I cranked up the amp and spent a couple of hours playing through my song list. Still lovin my new guitar. The lovely Lisa prefers I play unplugged in the house...... when she's home!
Ryland is in town from Prince George with his girlfriends Mom, Angela and her special needs daughter Avery. They come down once a year for Specialist appointments and Ryland has the week off work so he volunteered to come along and help. I made arrangements for them to come to Casa Lisa about 6:00 and we would all go to The New Tentatsu in Burnaby. I drifted in and out until my phone went off at 5:45 Ryland and Angela were on their way from Guildford so I came out and woke the lovely Lisa up from her nap on the couch.
It was my first time in an Escalade. You could play catch in the thing. The most comfortable seat I have ever sat in. I could have used it last week when I had my Open Ass Surgery. We went over Burnaby Mountain to Hastings Street. When I first moved out to Coquitlam the view going over Burnaby Mountain was spectacular. Then they planted all these Poplars and Alders that grow to fifty feet in about two weeks! No view, no more!
The new Tentatsu is on Hastings Street near Gilmore right beside the famous Antons Pasta. in North Burnaby. The new Tentatsu is every bit as good as the original. Including our waitress who used to work at the Nanaimo and Hastings Tentatsu. The food was great and the company was excellent. Angela is one of those people who sound like they're giggling when they talk. She makes "Pass the Soy sauce " sound like so much fun! Strange how time passes when your enjoying yourself.
Ryland waiting to lose at screw your neighbour
We invited them in for tea when they dropped us at home. The lovely Lisa made the tea and I set up the card table for a game of Screw Your Neighbour. We taught Ryland this game when he was ten years old. He taught Angela and their family how to play. It's a fast game four handed. We played one game and they had been at it all day. The lovely Lisa won. About 10:30 they left for the hotel. They have more appointments today and Ryland is taking his next level of lifeguard training. I tell you the kid is a worker! Besides lifeguarding, he delivers Pizzas and has another job as well. I don't remember what it is . I probably just had a moment of Squatchtimers! That's when someone is talking to me and I'm actually watching the football game over their shoulder! Ryland and his girlfriend are saving up for a trip to Austrailia in the new year so he's trying to make as much dough as he can. We tidied up a bit and I did some writing while the lovely Lisa went to bed. I woke up at about 3:30, drool running down my face and a cup of tea spilled onto the floor. It looked like pee so I considered leaving it and blaming Elvis!

That's all I've got
Till next time
Peace out Y'all
