Thursday
Cypress Views from the lovely Lisa ski trip |
Thursday started way to early. I was up at 6:30 to get downtown for 8:30. I was attending a seminar on communication with law enforcement agencies. I ran through the shower made a cup of insta Joe to drink as I got dressed in the dark so as to not wake up the lovely Lisa. I would soon enough discover the folly of my ways. I wanted to get out the door as soon as possible. You never know how long it will take to get into town.
With a Joe to go in hand I was on the road by 710. The traffic was light, the sky was blue, the sunroof was open, I had my Ray Bans on and the heater off. I was parked in the early bird parkade three blocks from my destination at 745. It was a nice walk especially on the sunny side of the street. I was sitting in the Blenz coffee bar in the lobby drinking an overpriced cup of coffee and reading 24 newspaper. That's a small free paper we have in Vancouver. It was at this point I noticed the crusty stain on the front of my shirt. Not a spot. Numerous spots! Like I was hit with a bowl of oatmeal thrown through a screen door! Left side, right side. From the collar to the belt line. It was almost the same colour as the shirt. I wiped it down as best I could and kept my jacket on.
Just like the 2010 Olympics |
The seminar was at times long, the first speaker was woman from 911 who was drier than a Nuns sense of humour. The three other speakers were Police. The first was talking about how to make a report to the police. The next one was a guy with a bunch of homemade videos on being alert. I guess we need more lerts! They saved the best for last. He was an active member of the Gang Squad . He spoke for two hours. He didn't sugar coat anything. He was dropping F bombs and calling these guys douchebags. It was very entertaining. He finished up by going back through his PowerPoint presentation pointing out the dead guys from the pictures he had already shown us. At 4:30 we were given our certificates of completion and a pin to wear on our ????
Thursday night Stalker Bill and his son Sean were getting in at 10:10 from Puerta Vallarta. I picked them up at the airport, stopped so Sean could get some McDonalds and made a beeline for home. I have Papa Squatch Dayscare in the morning.
Friday
Papa Squatch Dayscare was on with a bang. The kids came screaming into the house at 8:00 while Sean was still asleep on the couch. Stalker Bill's wife Wu Ping was going to be on the 4:00 ferrry from Victoria. I dropped Bella at school at 8:45 and then took Christo to pre school for 9:30. Then I dropped the Rat dogs off at the groomers. I wasted the rest of the morning in the green room listening to Stalker Bill, who is a fine musician, playing name that tune. Bill was a professional musician when we first met thirty five years ago. I went and picked up Christo at 11:45. Fifteen minutes early so we have time for lunch before we went to watch Bella skip rope for heart disease at 1:00. Stalker Bill, Sean, Christo and I went for lunch at the Red Star/Austin Diner. We had Chinese food for lunch except for Christo.
Pancakes and bacon for lunch...Yeah Baby! |
He had pancakes, bacon and eggs. When Wu Ping arrives we are going to Tentatsu for dinner.
Go Cam Ready to Go |
While all of this is going on the lovely Lisa and Bro Steve are skiing the one open run on Cypress.
Bro Steve |
She had a good time. It was a beautiful day and they did more than ten runs.
I thought, when I told Bella that I would come watch her skip, that this was a ten minute thing.
Skip |
Wrong
Skip |
the freakin thing lasted for more than an hour.
Skip |
Stalker Bill and Sean were back at the house and Christo was with me. I had to go spring the Rat dogs from the groomers. Tamara our tenant and Birthday girl on Sunday, said she would keep an eye on Christo while I went to get the Rat dogs.
Too young to skip |
I admit, I could have went a little quicker. I still had to sit through another ten minutes of skipping. This is the last day before spring break starts.
To my Lou |
The secretary was urging the parents who were there to take their kids home early. I say " Make em stay late!"
Skip to my Lou my Darling |
After Wu Ping and her nephew Micheal arrived we went to Tentatsu for dinner.
The Stalker Bill Clan |
I had stuffed squid for the first time. I liked it.
Unleash the Kraken! |
The squid is warm not raw and pretty tender. The tentacles were like chewing rubber bands.
Like Jabba the Hutt |
Which I did for about five minutes before I could swallow it. It kept trying to come back to life.
Assorted Sashimi |
Saturday
Sean and Micheal were already up and eating leftover Tentatsu for breakfast when we rolled out of bed. Stalker Bill and Wu Ping own an accounting business in Victoria and they were meeting with a Vancouver client this morning on their way home to the Island. This was a whirlwind trip especially for Wu Ping. We said our goodbyes and I hit the Green Room with a workout in mind. This was to be my first workout in five days. I did something to my shoulder overnight and I couldn't do my floor exercises at all. Jagged pains shot through my shoulder every time I tried to move it. I did 200 One Stair Steps and rode the Iron Maiden through an episode of Lilyhammer. I haven't rode the Maiden for a few weeks and she is now back to being a pain in my ass. By the time Johnny took care of the blackmailers, I was dealing with a severe case of numb bum.
Face looks numb too! |
The lovely Lisa and I went and took Mama Lee and the Rat dogs for a walk around Como Lake. I't's a workout pushing that chair! I don't want to be cruel or be seen as gloating because I live in the most incredible place in Canada and you all live in Snowville! But, this is the bestest winter ever.
We were meeting Willy, Annie and Duffy at the Rivers Reach for dinner.

Half price Pizza on Saturdays. Gord and Penny were going to join us but Penny was a little under the weather. We shared some appies and a pizza and watched the Canucks go down 2-0 again in the first period. Willy had just come from the Whitecaps game. They lost and now the Canuckleheads were living down to their billing. We paid our meager tab and left after the first period. We took the Rat dogs to Annie and Willy's for a playdate with Mac and Stinkin Lincoln and a pot of tea for us.

We had a few laughs and I showed Willy how to use my Netflix. Home in bed around midnight.
We have now sprung ahead and are back on real time. The lovely Lisa has a way early wakeup. I spent most of the day catching up on this blog and now we are taking Mama Lee on another walk around the lake.
That's all I've got
Till Next time
Peace out Y'all
