Who's a Fat Bastard - I still can't eat the toes!

March 1, 2015

Heather in the Garden
I reached new heights of laziness. The only reason I got out of bed at all was the lovely Lisa enticed me with promises of dim sum.

It was after 1:30 when we left the house. We took the Rat dogs with us. They needed to go out, and we also needed to do some grocery shopping. So we thought we would stop at Maklin park with the dogs on our way for dim sum and then shopping at the Stupor Store since they are all in the same neighborhood. I forgot that it was Festival Du Bois in Maillardville and Macklin Park was turned into a money sucking pit that doesn't allow dogs. We went two years ago. It cost $50 for the four of us to get through the gate so we could pay $9 for a cardboard plate of Poutine. No wonder Allouette is so jaunty! On the bright side it started to rain.
We drove down to the other side of the highway along United Boulevard. We found a ravine that runs all the way down to the Fraser River there. It has a creek that runs through it and a bike path. It was obvious that there are a lot of dogs using this space, and a lot of bad dog owners who don't clean up after their dogs. Big dogs. And possibly some kind of animal capable of pinching off a loaf the size of a small child! That was the dump that broke the Poop Fairy's back! We walk the dogs for fifteen, minutes dodging the massive dog bombs, then headed to dim sum.
Squid
I ate another chicken foot. For years I have refused to even try them. Then last time at dim sum It came on the special with rice and steamed ribs.

I looked over at Peter, stuffing a couple of dumplings into his mouth at once and thought, I'm already grossed out!

I started at the top and it tasted not bad. Kind of crunchy and very sweet.

I ate down to the ankle and steeled myself to eat the ball of the foot. What if it pops in my mouth like a busted carbunkle! It was tasty but,  I still can't eat the toes! We ordered shrimp stuffed eggplant to go, for Mama Lee.
After dim sum we went to the Stupor Store. It's in the same Plaza as the dim sum. Lisa handed me a giant list of things we needed and went off with a list of her own. Things she needed for work. Every once in a while I would look up and there she was with an arm full of groceries. It was 5:00 by the time we got home. The lovely Lisa was going to bed within the hour and I was going to the Jam at the Legion. We sat there for an hour talking about how we totally wasted the weekend. How it was so nice today we should have went and played golf or something. Instead the lovely Lisa went to bed and I went to the Jam at the Legion.
There was a solo act on stage when I got there. He was playing a nice acoustic version of Dust in the Wind. I was up next with Andre and a drummer. I started with Flip, flop and fly and had the dance floor moving by the time I got to the chorus. I played eight or nine songs, all of them up tempo all of them keeping the people on the dance floor. I left as soon as I was off the stage. I have my first day on set tomorrow.
I got an email reminding me about confidentiality. I can't tell you where we are, what the story line is, no pictures of the set or costumes posted. I can tell you the movie is " Further Adventures in Babysitting" it's a Disney Production. I have one scene and three days work. The kids in this show are amazing. Smart, polite and well spoken. Looking forward to the working environment.

That's all I've got
Till Next time
Peace out Y'all
